Group Surf Lesson
In our 2 hour group lesson there is a maximum student instructor ratio of 4 to 1 to ensure you can learn to surf in a fun and safe way. The first part of the lesson will take place on the beach. You will learn or practice how to handle the board safely in the water and how to pop up.
After the beach instruction students and instructors will go into the shallow water to surf their first waves.
*Surfboard rental and use of a rashguard is included in the price of the lesson.
We have a wide selection of surfboards to accommodate all levels of surfer which guests are able to rent per day or half day.
Playa Grande Surf School
Our onsite Surf School offers group and private lessons as well as week long surf camps where guests can improve their surf skills or to be given a safe and fun introduction into the world of surfing on one of Costa Rica's best surf breaks.
Our surf packages are perfect for anyone wanting to learn to surf or to improve their skills in a 1 week intensive course. Packages include transport to and from Liberia airport, 7 nights accomodation, 6 day breakfast or lunch in our onsite restaurant ‘Cafe Mar Azul’ and free use of surfboards.
Our one week surf tour package is for experienced surfers who want to travel to multiple breaks up and down the coast to pack as much into their stay as possible. While chasing the best waves the region has to offer, you will also get local insight and a unique view of the peninsula.
About Our HostelWe offer 4 different types of rooms:
- A bed in our 6 bed, mixed dorm room with A/C. The essence of hostel life
- Our A framed cabinas with A/C, either with a double bed or 2 twin beds
- Our open air treehouse rooms with private balcony. These are without A/C for those who want to enjoy the ocean breeze
- A private 2 bedroom apartment with A/C and private bathroom. Sleeps up to 5 people
