Sailing School and Sailing Tour

General Description:

Costa Rica Sailing Center is open to the public. We rent small sailboats, kayaks, and paddle boards, as well as provide instruction, tours, and local knowledge.

The connected Hemingway’s Restaurant is a full-service restaurant and bar on the beach. The Sailing Center has a big pool our customers and Club Members can use. We also have bonfires on the beach most nights and live music in the evenings several times a week. It’s a great place to spend a day at the beach.

CRSC is Costa Rica’s premier sailing center for learning and open to the public!

In addition to our lessons, regattas and occasional sail camps, we rent small sailboats, kayaks, and paddle boards. Click here more on our PLAY activities and events.

SAILING LESSONS

Our courses are designed to teach and entertain. We are now pleased to offer certification through CANSail, a WorldSailing recognized curriculum and program. Come sail with us today!

SAILING LESSONS

Small Boat Sailing

The two hour sailing course will spend at least 75% of the time out on the water.

The boats we use for this course are the RS Quba 11 ft. monohull or the 14 ft. Hobie Wave. This is a perfect class for beginners to experience sailing for the first time or as a tune up for those with some experience to tighten up their skills.

Our four hour sailing course is typically completed over two days.

It covers sailing fundamentals such as wind theory, points of sail, proper body and sail positioning. This course is great for exploring the bay and improving your sailing.

8 hours of private instruction is sufficient time to acheive a basic level of competency in sailing.

If you are interested in a CanSail International Sailing Certificate, this is the course for you.

At the end you will be able to demonstrate small boat handling, know your points of sail, be able to evaluate wind and water conditions, and much more.

Big Boat Sailing

Keelboat instruction is done aboard our Cal 34 sloop.

Students will learn to rig, reef, tack, jibe, and steer our boat "No Intentions" all around Bahia Potrero. Instruction can be tailored to your specific sailing goals. Whether you want to learn enough to cross oceans, or you just want to get out on the water and improve your sailing, this course is a great place to start.

No Intentions has the added benefit of a rigid cover that provides shade while sailing!

With 8 hours of instruction aboard the Cal 34, you will learn the fundamentals of big boat handling, communication, steering, rigging, reefing, and more.

This course also includes tutorials on anchoring, storm tactics, and VHF radio etiquette. As with the 4 hour course, we are happy to tailor the course to your specific sailing goals.

Catamaran Tours

Take a spin around the bay on a fun, small, wet catamaran sailboat. This is a great way to see the coast and look for marine wildlife.

Hobie Getaway $185/two hours

Sunset Snorkel and Sail

Take a ride on the biggest and most beautiful boat in our fleet. A whopping 34 feet in length, the keelboat No Intentions is fun and spacious for the whole family. We provide snorkel gear for you to take a dip in a private paradisiacal bay and enjoy the Pacific.

We'll have a cooler with ice and waters. Bring your own picnic or order it from the restaurant!This is a private charter at a fantastic price. Max 8 people.

Private Catamaran

Want to get away from it all and take your friends with you? The most beautiful catamaran in the bay, Pacific Soul is a Lagoon 450 with 3 levels of deck space. Private tours aboard Pacific Soul includes lunch, open bar, snorkeling, and fishing gear.

You will sail to a nearby anchorage where you can swim and enjoy all of the activities we offer. When you return on board, the meal will be served and we will set sail for our return trip.

Depending on the time-frame you choose, we provide a delicious brunch and/or lunch during your trip.

In addition, snacks such as tropical fruits and chips are available throughout the day.

4-hour trip $2000, 6-hour trip $2500

Schedule a morning out on the water or an unforgettable sunset cruise. We will take our 34 ft. sloop No Intentions our for a 4-hour cruise that includes a swim and snorkeling.
